Device Data Settings (DDS)
What is Device Data Settings (DDS)?
It determines the frequency at which snapshots are recorded and sent from an asset to the Fleet Complete Web application.
- By default, all assets based on the same product use the settings established for that product
- Device Data Settings (DDS) vary according to the product to which you are subscribed
- To avoid service overages, use caution when modifying the settings or creating new ones.
What are the products supporting DDS?
You have two types of products:
- In-Vehicle Tracking (MGS)
- DDS controls how frequently devices in a vehicle record data, and how frequently they send snapshots to Fleet Complete
- whether or not the assets use DCMData Conservation Mode. Ensures an asset communicates with Fleet Complete only when necessary. Assets using DCM communicate when the ignition is on, during the 12 minutes after it has been turned off and whenever a significant GPS movement (1000 metres or more) occurs.
-
AT-1000 Asset Tag
- DDS controls the hours in the day during which snapshots are sent
- By default, these settings are 9 am to 5 pm on weekdays. If using this form of tracking for loss prevention, change the settings so as to capture data constantly.
